Background

In 2021, we began building a LMS for a client in Colorado. We own 100% of the IP. We have completed development and after a few months determined we need to stay in consulting and workshops versus owning and licensing an LMS. We don’t have a big enough client base to maintain the platform nor the funds to market the platform for growth.


We designed to platform to have more of a Trainual feel than simply a LMS (managing e-courses, live training, digital processes, authoring components, etc)

  • Code base- Laravel Framework
  • The LMS is multi-portal, allowing for branded client environments with data and content housed within the portal
  • Role-based with the following roles: Administrator, Group Administrator, Trainer, and User
  • Robust, real-time reporting with dashboards and drill-down data by Group, User, Course, and Certification
  • Simple Content Authoring Tool- Create e-courses, digital processes, etc (no programming needed)
  • Test Authoring Tool- Create T/F and multiple-choice questions using text, images or videos (no programming needed)
  • Content is managed as follows: Course, process/PDF, video/mp4, audio/mp3.
  • Course content managed in Groups and Certifications
  • Certifications are made up of one or more courses
  • Training types include Online, Live Online, and Live
  • Users can be bulk-uploaded, individually loaded, or loaded via integration 


The programming was by our contract team for the last 15 years in Georgia. They have designed three platforms for us, so no in-house resources are needed. Guidemarker was written in the Laravel Framework, allowing for scale. Rate $105/hour for updates.


We have over $185,000 invested in the LMS and $30,000 in content. We desire to sell the LMS intellectual property and e-courses for $70,000.


Justification

WIth the average LMS in the market charging $3 to $5/person/month, you would have the ability to justify the purchase with around 1600 to 1800 users.
